The Sting

While the original Ocean's Eleven featuring the Rat Pack came much earlier, I think of this as one of the defining stories of the genre because of how much cool-factor it brought into the mix. It's not groundbreaking filmmaking, but Robert Redford and Paul Newman are all charisma here, and it makes for a slick, stylish experience worth revisiting.
